You Have Our Thanks

NIH's ability to fund outstanding science hinges in large part on the generosity of scientists and lay people who serve on its hundreds of peer review and advisory committees, including our NIAID Council Members.

Traveling to Bethesda, Maryland, from across the country, these volunteers commit their valuable time to make an enormous and irreplaceable contribution to biomedical science.

In recognition, we'd like to take a moment to thank people who participated on NIAID peer review groups and advisory committees during the FY 2009 Council rounds, listed below.

We'd also like to thank the people who serve on the Center for Scientific Review Review Committees that review our applications, though we do not list them individually here.

How to Volunteer

NIAID's peer reviewers volunteer their time to travel to NIH and make peer review happen. The token honorarium they receive cannot compensate them for their time or for the service they provide the scientific community.

We strongly encourage scientists to be part of this vital effort.

Serving on a review committee is a rewarding and enlightening experience. If you're interested in participating on an NIAID committee, please contact Ed Schroder in NIAID's Scientific Review Program at es170m@nih.gov. Send a CV and a very brief summary of your areas of expertise.
